Praying One For Another

 

“Confess your faults one to another, and pray ye one
for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of
a righteous man availeth much.” – James 5:16

 

Dear Christian Friend:

You don’t have to look very far to discover that we are living in a hurting world. The evidence is all around us. Violence is increasing. People are living in poverty. Sadness and depression are now considered normal ways of living. Sometimes, it all seems hopeless and overwhelming.

WHAT CAN WE DO?

Well, as Christians, we have a very powerful tool at our disposal…prayer! Scripture tells us to pray with nothing wavering and to know that our Heavenly Father hears us when we pray. Scripture also assures us that our Lord Jesus Christ is seated at the Father’s right hand making intercession for us. We have an advocate in high places!

Because prayer is so important and so badly needed, I would like to take this opportunity to invite you to become a part of something big and meaningful. We have founded the Folded Hands Prayer Team in an effort to bring thousands of Christians together for the purposes of praying for those in need and praying for one another as we are instructed to in the Bible.

HERE’S HOW IT WORKS.

Every Wednesday, each member will receive an e-mail message with the prayer requests received that week. Each member agrees to pray over these requests by name each day for that week. When we receive urgent prayer requests that can’t wait until the next weekly bulletin, those requests are sent out the same day we receive them. We know that you’re busy and your e-mail box probably gets overloaded on a regular basis (I know mine does), so we promise that we will only send out urgent requests when the circumstances truly warrant it.

Likewise, members are encouraged to send in their prayer requests as well. After all, our goal is to pray for one another. If you have a prayer request that you don’t want to go into detail about, that’s OK. Just tell us that you have an “unspoken request.” We’ll be faithful to pray just the same. We don’t need to know all of the particulars because God knows.

NO SPAM OR JUNK EMAIL EVER!

This is not a commercial e-mail group. It only has one purpose and that is to alert members of prayer requests and praise reports. That’s it. Period! We will not send out sales pitches to this list. Likewise, we will never sell, rent, give away or otherwise distribute our members’ contact information to anyone else for any reason! That’s about as plain as I can make that.

Best of all, you are in total control. You are free to unsubscribe anytime you want to. Each message comes with a convenient “unsubscribe” link at the bottom. If you should ever want to leave the team, just click that link. It couldn’t be easier. There is no cost to join. My family and I, and our family business are picking up 100% of the costs of running this prayer team (including this website and the mailing list service). All we are asking from you is your participation and your faithfulness in prayer.
